Dude? What?

Jeff Bridges…. Donny was just a figment of Walter’s imagination, an old war buddy. He didn’t even exist.. So now I need to watch it AGAIN. 🤔

Interview with The Big Lebowski cast

Did you notice this? Well, there’s a horse of a different color!

You’re out of your element Donny!

What brings you the most happiness?

I find that I’m pretty much always happy, or at the very least, content. Comfortable. I don’t need to go looking for something external.

However, for me, pure joy us precious time with family and close friends. I need no more than that.

You?

Which Witch School

Have you studied at a School for Witches? Are you considering?

Witch Studies

I’ve delved into a couple of the more well-known schools, and have not yet found the one for me, but I do take valuable learning experiences from all sources.

With so many paths, there are many choices: online, group, personal mentor. It can be difficult to choose!

Here are some good starting places if you’re toying with the idea.

Which Witch Are You?

Throughout history, witches have practiced magic and called upon ethereal beings and all worldly offerings to help bring about positive change for all. Although many Witches and Pagans were feared as keepers of the Devil’s ways, in reality, we were simply natural healers, the “Wise Women” (and men) of our collective times, who only sought to bring the forth the powerful natural gifts provided by Our Mother, even to those who would rudicule and fear us.

Today, we find a greater acceptance of our beliefs and abilities, as natural extensions of ourselves. Witches, Wizards, Soothsayers, Mediums, Apothecaries and those like us are sought for our problem-solving skills and knowledge of all things natural. We are called upon for healing, cleansing, blessing, enlightenment, and all around good works.

Many of us join with covens, official or more relaxed, and many of us practice in solitary, each as we desire. Either way, we all strive to make all life here and in the hereafter, the best it can be.

Some of us use specific tools and symbols to gather insight and direct intention. Wands, candles, oils and incense, herbs, pendulums, sigils, scrying mirrors, tea leaves, runes, gifted feathers, sacred woods, botanicals and more, can all be powerful allies in our practice.

Every Good Witch Deserves a Well-Appointed Apothecary

We may classify ourselves as Green Witches, Garden Witches, Kitchen Witches, Hedge Witches, White Witches, Healers, Apothecaries, Wiccan, Pagan, Neo-Celtic or Neo-Pagan, Druid, Mediums, Ceremonial, Elemental, Lewellen and so many more. Some choose to delve into magical studies. Many prefer not to select a particular path at all. Only you know who you are.

Specific tools and symbols may be employed to assist with gathering insight and directing intention. Wands, candles, oils and incense, herbs, pendulums, sigils, scrying mirrors, tea leaves, runes, gifted feathers, fire, water, crystals, sacred woods, botanicals and more, can all be powerful allies in our practice.

I consider myself to be an Eclectic Hereditary, as I draw from the knowledge of the many Ancients as well as bring born into a long line of humble, yet strong-willed Celtic Wise-Women, Herbal Healers, schooled by Jesuits and Druids, Mothers, Grandmothers and Great Aunts.

We are “The Knowers”, born with an innate ability to sense and feel others, a gift that sometimes needs to be reigned in for our own well-being. Fortunate to have been encouraged to gather knowledge and to explore all things known and unknown, big and small, felt and sensed, even as a child I knew that there was much more to life than meets the eye.

We here at WitchTastic, love to hear about your own personal journey to this space.

Conjuring the Elements

This is wonderful. In Wicca, as in other Traditions, the Words sometimes get in the way. Evoking oneness without them, without symbols or chantings or other disguises of the consciousness….THIS is perfect. Please read this selection shared from Kaos Butterfly. It may change the way you see things from here.

Four_Elements_by_Miqus

This is an approach to the traditional Wiccan calling of the elements, sans all causal forms—that is, it uses no words, no symbols, no forms or anything of that nature. It relies entirely on one’s fluency with energy, how well developed the astral senses are, and an empathy with the elements and with Nature—nothing that can be obtained from a book or some religion. This is just the basic outline, and it assume one will have the skill to know what to do with it all.

Do You Live an Esoteric Life?

Do you live an Esoteric Life?
image

Have you considered that inside of you, are bits and pieces of information that can only be understood by you, and perhaps a select few other beings on the face of this earth?  That you are truly unique. That in you lies the basis for the Akashic Record of the Universe?

Now you may say, esoterics, that doesn’t apply to me. I’m just a regular person living a regular life. Mundane. Run of the mill. Nothing special. Just like everyone else. I hold no secrets. I have no revelations to tell. Well, I would say, you should think on that some more.

Now I hold no belief that I, by any means understand a tiny fraction of what there is to know or understand.  But what I do understand is that we all have something profound to say and do. Each of us. You know something that I don’t know, and may never understand. I may know something that you don’t know. Together, we hold the combined knowledge of the universe right here on earth.
image

YOU are important. YOU have something to contribute. YOU are a part of the Universe, and without you it could not be complete. Each of us has a reason for being. It’s not something we might think of every day over our morning coffee, but I believe it to be so. And the mystery of it all is that neither you nor I may ever “know” or comprehend what it is that we give to the rest of the world…but there’s something. It’s there. In each of us.

The thoughts we think, the words we say, the knowledge we hold, our feelings, our intuitions, our fears and doubts, all contribute to the sense of reality that is our universe. A sense that is at the very best of times incomprehensible. Real, yet unreal. At our fingertips, yet unattainable.

The Akashic Record holds that everything that ever has been, is now, or ever will be, can be known.  It is knowable. All of it. If we only have the means to grasp it. Problem is, who knows what those means are? How can things that have never happened be knowable?  How can the mysteries of the eons past be decipherable?  Consider that the answers lie within each of us. A database made of billions of sentient beings. Each of us holding a key to the lock on some small iota of information that we, and only we alone, can know.  If we impart these thoughts to others, a greater understanding is gained.

Something as simple as a knowing glance, an agreement, a debate, a kindness or a word spoken in passing, can spark knowledge inside another that theretofore had not been at the forefront of their minds. A revelation of sorts. It’s happened to you, right? That moment, any moment, just like any other moment of any other day.  You’re going about your business and suddenly something that someone says in passing suddenly opens up a deep and profound understanding within you.  And you think to yourself, “Wow! I never thought of it that way before!”  But now, you do. And you delve into that.  You think on it. Consider it. Maybe even figure it out.  A collective thought process has made that one small revelation come to life inside you.

Consider that each of us has a multifaceted affect upon the other. The way I respond to you today may affect the way you ultimately react in similar situations for the rest of your life. A small kindness to another person can truly change their perception of existence.  The thoughts that you have, while reading this, right now, have an effect on the way you perceive yourself, the way you perceive me, the way you look at the world that surrounds you.  Everything that we say, do and feel, means something.  We’ll all striving for what that something is. Meaning.

The meaning of life. The meaning of existence. Why are we here? What is the purpose of my life? That’s what we all want to know is it not? We don’t wake up every morning and wonder aloud, “what am I doing here?”  But the quest is always present.  After all, its innately human to want to know, learn, gain, understand.

So, I say to you, the next time you find yourself in a difficult situation, take a deep breath, smile, and just know …  everything..and I mean everything…happens for a reason.

And someone, somewhere, understands what that reason is.

Life is a puzzle. We each hold a piece. Come Together.

10 Things Highly Intuitive People Do Differently

10 Things Highly Intuitive People Do Differently

Intuition is challenging to define, despite the huge role it plays in our everyday lives. Steve Jobs called it, for instance, “more powerful than intellect.” But however we put it into words, we all, well, intuitively know just what it is.

Pretty much everyone has experienced a gut feeling — that unconscious reasoning that propels us to do something without telling us why or how. But the nature of intuition has long eluded us, and has inspired centuries’ worth of research and inquiry in the fields of philosophy and psychology.

“I define intuition as the subtle knowing without ever having any idea why you know it,” Sophy Burnham, bestselling author of The Art of Intuition, tells The Huffington Post. “It’s different from thinking, it’s different from logic or analysis … It’s a knowing without knowing.”

Our intuition is always there, whether we’re aware of it or not. As HuffPost President and Editor-in-Chief Arianna Huffington puts it in her upcoming book Thrive:

Even when we’re not at a fork in the road, wondering what to do and trying to hear that inner voice, our intuition is always there, always reading the situation, always trying to steer us the right way. But can we hear it? Are we paying attention? Are we living a life that keeps the pathway to our intuition unblocked? Feeding and nurturing our intuition, and living a life in which we can make use of its wisdom, is one key way to thrive, at work and in life.

Cognitive science is beginning to demystify the strong but sometimes inexplicable presence of unconscious reasoning in our lives and thought. Often dismissed as unscientific because of its connections to the psychic and paranormal, intuition isn’t just a bunch of hoo-ha about our “Spidey senses” — the U.S. military is even investigating the power of intuition, which has helped troops to make quick judgments during combat that ended up saving lives.

“There is a growing body of anecdotal evidence, combined with solid research efforts, that suggests intuition is a critical aspect of how we humans interact with our environment and how, ultimately, we make many of our decisions,” Ivy Estabrooke, a program manager at the Office of Naval Research, told the New York Times in 2012.

Here are 10 things that people in touch with their intuition do differently.

They listen to that inner voice.

“It’s very easy to dismiss intuition,” says Burnham. “But it’s a great gift that needs to be noticed.”

The No. 1 thing that distinguishes intuitive people is that they listen to, rather than ignore, the guidance of their intuitions and gut feelings.

“Everybody is connected to their intuition, but some people don’t pay attention to it as intuition,” Burnham say. “I have yet to meet a successful businessman that didn’t say, ‘I don’t know why I did that, it was just a hunch.’”

In order to make our best decisions, we need a balance of intuition — which serves to bridge the gap between instinct and reasoning — and rational thinking, according to Francis Cholle, author of The Intuitive Compass. But the cultural bias against following one’s instinct or intuition often leads to disregarding our hunches — to our own detriment.

“We don’t have to reject scientific logic in order to benefit from instinct,” says Cholle. “We can honor and call upon all of these tools, and we can seek balance. And by seeking this balance we will finally bring all of the resources of our brain into action.”

They take time for solitude.

If you want to get in touch with your intuition, a little time alone may be the most effective way. Just as solitude can help give rise to creative thinking, it can also help us connect to our deepest inner wisdom.

Intuitive people are often introverted, according to Burnham. But whether you’re an introvert or not, taking time for solitude can help you engage in deeper thought and reconnect with yourself.

“You have to be able to have a little bit of solitude; a little bit of silence,” she says. “In the middle of craziness … you can’t recognize [intuition] above all of the noise of everyday life.”

They Create.

“Creativity does its best work when it functions intuitively,” writes researcher and author Carla Woolf.

In fact, creative people are highly intuitive, explains Burnham, and just as you can increase your creativity through practice, you can boost your intuition. In fact, practicing one may build up the other.

solitude

They practice mindfulness.

Meditation and other mindfulness practices can be an excellent way to tap into your intuition. As the Search Inside Yourself Leadership Institute explains, “Mindfulness can help you filter out mental chatter, weigh your options objectively, tune into your intuition and ultimately make a decision that you can stand behind completely.”

Mindfulness can also connect you to your intuition by boosting self-knowledge. A 2013 study published in the journal Perspectives on Psychological Science showed that mindfulness — defined as “paying attention to one’s current experience in a non-judgmental way” — may help us to better understand our own personalities. And as Arianna Huffington notes in Thrive, increased intuition, compassion, creativity and peace are all wonderful side effects of meditating.

They observe everything.

“The first thing to do is notice — keep a little journal, and notice when odd things happen,” Burnham says. You’ll gain a keen sense for how often coincidences, surprising connections and on-the-dot intuitions occur in your ………
